The Department of Culture Management of the Institute of Culture of the Jagiellonian University organises one-year postgraduate studies in the field of culture management.

Postgraduate Studies – Culture Management

The studies, designed as a means to improve one's abilities, are addressed both to people working in cultural institutions (of each of the three sectors), as well as those interested in broadly understood culture management.

The lecturers of the studies are distinguished theoreticians and practitioners. We cooperate with researchers from, among others: Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Warsaw School of Economics, Cracow University of Economics; as well as directors of festivals, museums, theatres and other cultural organisations.

The programme of the studies covers the following topics:

1. Management – concepts, principles, practical examples (cultural organisations).

2. Human capital management: motivating, leadership, negotiations, teamwork.

3. Project management: concepts, principles, practical examples.

4. Culture organisation and management in Poland.

5. Cultural heritage management, cultural tourism.

6. Quality management in cultural institutions.

7. Law: legal and systemic aspects of cultural activity, protection of intellectual property, labour law.

8. Cultural financing: project writing workshops, sponsorship, culture economics

9. Marketing: product in culture, advertising, culture in social media.

10. Public relations: shaping the organisation's image, self-presentation, negotiations.

11. Methodology of research in culture.

12. International cultural institutions and organisations: programmes, networks and cultural policy models in Europe.

13. Accessibility of cultural institutions; volunteering and internships in cultural organisations
